This book peaked my curiosity about other sailing books of the same period, like "Once is Enough" by Miles Smeeton, whom John Guzzwell met in Hawaii and whom he Trekka round the world book for encouraging him to sail Trekka around the world.

Reading "Once is Enough" (the McGrawHill edition with the introduction by Jonathan Raban) helped me understand both books better by adding a lot of the historical context /5(43).

Very cool to read TREKKA first and then about the SPRAY. I don't sail and will never sail around the world.

The book(s)are worth reading just for the story and lessons. SO I recommend TREKKA to anyone wishing to escape the world, castoff the bindings /5(43). Trekka Round the World.
